About the job

As an AI Engineer, you will play a central role in the evolution of our core product and act as the architect of the intelligence that powers our Geology OS. You won’t just be using models: you will design, fine-tune, and deploy machine learning systems that interpret complex geophysical and geochemical data, turning massive, noisy datasets into high-confidence exploration targets.

Your focus will be on building an agentic ecosystem - orchestrating intelligent workflows and tool-augmented systems that can reason through complex geological challenges. To power these agents, you will fine-tune foundational models on our proprietary datasets, ensuring they possess the domain-specific intuition required for high-accuracy discovery. By combining the reasoning capabilities of AI agents with the precision of custom-tuned models, you will transform raw data into a scalable, autonomous engine for mineral exploration.

The role is based in Paris with a flexible remote working policy.

What you’ll do

• Design, orchestrate, and optimize AI agents and agentic workflows that solve complex challenges in mineral exploration and geosciences.

• Collaborate closely with geoscientists, software engineers, and other team members to integrate AI solutions into our platform.

• Leverage state-of-the-art AI models (e.g., foundation models, fine-tuned & multimodal models) as components within broader tool-using agent frameworks.

• Lead the fine-tuning of LLMs and vision transformers to adapt general-purpose models to the niche requirements of geology and mineralogy.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI research and ensure their practical application within the company’s workflows.

• Continuously monitor and refine internal AI solutions, ensuring robustness, transparency and scalability.

• Contribute to the design and development of the overall AI architecture of our platform.

• Actively participate in brainstorming sessions to identify creative AI-driven solutions to complex business problems.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience applying AI and Machine Learning in production environments

• Strong working knowledge of state-of-the-art AI models and methodologies, including deep learning, generative models, fine-tuning and reinforcement learning.

• Proficiency in Python, with a strong emphasis on clean, maintainable code and best practices in software engineering.

• Experience working with modern LLM libraries.

• Proven ability to work with large-scale datasets and implement data preprocessing pipelines.

• A solid understanding of algorithm development and optimization techniques.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex challenges into elegant AI solutions.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

• Passion for leveraging AI to make a positive impact.

• Nice-to-have: knowledge of geospatial data processing and analysis, experience in geosciences-related industries or earth exploration fields.
